Week 4 - Lavender Sky - Brianna Ureta

I took this photo about a week ago while hanging out with my family at the beach. Going to the beach every weekend has been a ritual my family and I have a had for a while now, but since the start of the pandemic we haven't been able to go very often for our own safety. Last week was the first time in months that we've been back to the beach and even still we decided to go closer at night as to avoid large crowds. As we sat and watched the waves and sun gradually fade, I felt almost a sense of sadness. I hadn't really thought about how spending quality time outdoors with my family had been such a large part of my life and losing that due to COVID-19 made me a bit lonely. The dark lavender sky and gray waves gave me feelings of sadness and nostalgia. It made me yearn for my childhood again, a time when such tragic events as the current pandemic hadn't yet come into my line of vision. It truly amazes me how the amount of light and certain colors can evoke such intense emotions.
