Week 4 - Alex Bobroff - By the Sea
It's hard to beat sunset from the beach. The way the sun sinks into the horizon reflecting across the ocean is so incredibly beautiful. This photo was taken from Coronado beach in San Diego and everything from the texture of the sand to the distant Point Loma makes in an amazing place. In this sunset specifically, there were some clouds covering up the sun, but in some ways that scattered the light and created a nice image. I like the gradient from the blue-gray sky to the orange sunset, back to the cooler ocean. There's a very nice reflection on the water from the sun too. And that light casts some neat shadows on the sand providing some depth. Also, there's enough activity from the people walking by the water and the boat in the distance to provide some life. All of that comes together to create a very pretty sunset.

The texture in the foreground is really great and then the mix of warm and cool in the background adds so much. Nice connection between the photo and the emotions it evoked.
